This Privacy Policy explains how Neon Notes ("the app") handles your information. Please read it carefully.

1. No Data Collection

Neon Notes does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

  • The app has no internet permission.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, or tracking libraries are used.
  • No account or sign-in is required.
  • Nothing you write in the app is sent anywhere.

2. Data Storage

  • All notes, tasks, and settings are stored locally on your device only.
  • The local database is encrypted using AES-256.
  • Backup files created by the app are stored on your device's storage. You control where these files go and who has access to them.
  • Portable backups are encrypted with a password you choose.

3. Permissions Used

Storage (Android 9 and below only) Used to save backup files to your device's Documents folder. Not used on Android 10 and above.
Biometric / Fingerprint Used only for the optional app lock feature. Biometric data never leaves your device and is handled entirely by Android's built-in BiometricPrompt API. The app never stores or accesses your biometric data directly.

4. Third-Party Services

Neon Notes does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. There are no ads, no analytics, and no cloud sync.

5. Children's Privacy

Neon Notes does not collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.

6. Data Deletion

  • Delete individual notes or tasks at any time within the app.
  • Empty the recycle bin to permanently remove deleted items.
  • Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
